This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.

Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into

Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness.

Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.

They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD

Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Cry out, "Save us, God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name, and glory in your praise."

But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel

to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
